JKI was first organized as Johnson Kinetic Systems Corporation in NH, and then re-established as Johnson Kinetics, Inc. in 1997 as a closely held Ohio 'C' Corporation.  Currently located south of Dayton, Ohio, JKI has a small staff with administrative and design offices with adjoining fabrication and testing facilities.  In addition to our full time staff, we work with several engineering, scientific, and technical consultants on an as needed basis.

JKI is a veteran owned small business whose primary clientele are Government agencies, Fortune 500 Companies, Research Institutions, Universities, and individuals participating in project evaluation for possible development.  Although most of the work we perform is Strictly Confidential, some programs have produced spin-off products.  Several technologies listed in the Engineering Services and Areas of Expertise section are often included to enhance clients projects and research efforts through design purchase or license.

JKI actively seeks partnerships with other researchers in cooperative development of SBIR/STTR and BAA proposals. We have participated in several joint development programs in primary, support, and subcontracting roles.
